What a wonderful Spring 2 half term we’ve had in Forest School, with 5 different classes doing all kinds of exciting things!
Read on to see what we’ve all been up to…
Elms have really enjoyed their time in the forest, it’s been so lovely to see how they have grown in confidence and independence. For many of the children this was their first experience of Forest School and I think it is safe to say they love it!

This half term, we’ve had lots of lovely sensory experiences from feeling and pouring pine needles, bird seed and lentils to rolling conkers and pine cones. Many of the children have loved playing in the water, mud and chalk painting. We’ve had some wonderful meals made in the mud kitchen!

Willows have had another fabulous half term in Forest School. We really enjoyed playing in the rain one week, splashing in the puddles and feeling it on our faces but we’ve been enjoying the sunshine too.

We’ve had lots of sensory play this half term, we’ve been feeling and pouring pine needles, bird seed and lentils. We loved playing in the water, watching it pour down the guttering, as well as mud and chalk painting.

We made some lovely shamrocks for St Patricks day using herbs and some beautiful hearts with pretty flowers for our moms. At the end of term, we found eggs in our Easter Egg Hunt and enjoyed eating the chocolate!

The children love their time in the forest and we’re hoping for more sunny weather to enjoy next term.

Cedars, Firs and Rowans have all had a super half term, focussed on the story ‘Room on the Broom’.

Each class did a variety of activities based on the story, as well as lots of exploring, choosing their favourite activities and working together.

Some of their favourite activities were making their own magic potions, broomsticks and wands; mud painting, bird feeders and bird watching.
Cedars loved making rainbow toast on the fire and were brilliant at creating land art pictures using natural resources found on the forest floor.
Rowans had great fun using the Kelly Kettle and fire strikers.
Firs loved making paint…they made and used mud, charcoal and chalk paint!!
