Firs class really enjoyed using petals and flowers and experimenting with coloured water, in order to make beautiful potions…
They also made small pots of mud using soil and water and used their big arm and shoulder muscles to reach up high to paint an old sheet. The children had their own ideas of where else they could paint – including trees and the inside of our playhouse!

We all enjoyed the sunshine and had a very chilled out morning exploring and investigating all of the different activities around the forest school site.
Larches and Poplars classes both focused on spiders-one of the carnivorous animals we have been learning about this term. Larches took turns to untie a spider fact from the line, and then read and discussed each one. We looked at pictures of spiders and their webs.

Larches worked together to help create a large spider web, by making a circle around some trees, then passing string from one side of the circle to the other-they had great fun doing this! They then choose a spider fact to tie onto the web…

Poplars looked around the woods and found some spider webs…they also found the huge web that Larches had made! They all found a spider fact for the adults to read.

They then all helped to make a big picture of a spider…
Both classes made rock spiders…
Poplars made pine cone spiders…
Larches made some beautiful woollen webs…
